Harry Edward Styles, known in the world of music as Harry Styles, is a British musician and singer, recognized as a member of the group One Direction. In Holmes Chapel in Cheshire England Styles is the son of Des Styles & Anne Cox. Harry Styles went to the Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School, along with three of his classmates, formed a music group dubbed White Eskimo. They won the Battle of Bands in 2009, thanks to their outstanding results. He was always interested in music but would like to work as a lawyer or physical therapist. He was employed in a local bakery part-time to support his family financially. Harry Styles was selected for The X Factor 2010 audition in which he performed Stevie Wonder's hit song Is not She Lovely. This is why his group were forced to split. Nicole Scherzinger told Harry Styles, Liam Payne Zayn Milik Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson that they would form an ensemble called One Direction after the X Factor audition. Simon Cowell sponsored five teenagers to create the group in 2010. The group performed hits like My Life Would Suffer Without You, by Kelly Clarkson, and Total Eclipse of the Heart, by Bonnie Tyler during the competition. The group was one of the potential winners to win the award. However, they finished third behind Rebecca Ferguson, and the winner Matt Cardle. Harry Styles was not the winner, but Cowell was a millionaire as part of a deal for One Direction.
